CVM Migration to DFTS SmartNumbers Mail – Information

This migration detailed below was successfully completed on the 26th April 2008.

April 2008

All CVM voice mail users will be migrated to the DFTS SmartNumbers Mail service. Please find below a series of frequently asked questions and advice to enable your current voice mail box (CVM) to be migrated to the DFTS SmartNumbers Mail service.

Why is the change necessary?

The current voice mail system CVM is at its end of service life and is unable to support the capacity of voice mail boxes to meet the customer demand. Therefore CVM will be replaced by the new Service – DFTS SmartNumbers Mail.

When will the change take place?

The migration has been postponed to Saturday the 26th April 2008. Please accept our sincere apologies for this delay in the migration of your service.

What Action do I need to take?

If possible delete any messages you have in your CVM mail box by Friday 25th April 2008 and set the extended absence greeting.

On returning to work after the 26th April you will be able to log onto your new DFTS SmartNumbers Mail box by dialling the same access code as you did for CVM (9 60006000 or 166) you will be asked to enter ID, this is your site/Mil dial code plus your extension number. (For example Copenacre Mil 9 4382 extension 1234 would have a mail box ID of  43821234. Do not enter the leading 9.)

You will be asked to enter a password – A voice mail broadcast message will inform you of the default password prior to the change over. You MUST change the default password after the first time you log into DFTS SmartNumbers Mail.

The getting started and user guides for DFTS SmartNumbers Mail are located at http://help.dftssmartnumbers.com and within the DFTS catalogue.

What do I do if I have a problem with my new SmartNumbers mail box or it does not work?

Contact the CASC on 0800 389 2272 – Option 3, please state you have a CVM migration problem and give your name site and extension number. If the ATO deals with all faults at your site, pass the details to them to report to the CASC.

What do I do If I know that I have an important Message left on CVM before the change over?

Contact the CASC on 0800 389 2272 Option 3. The CASC will connect you to your old (CVM mail box) you then enter your CVM ID and CVM Password to retrieve the message.

Note: No new messages will be left on CVM mail boxes after the 26th April 2008.
